… and I often wonder, who’s wilder: a predator in the jungle or a Man in the big city?
This series of paintings represents a universe in which people are back to a state where they witness their own instincts and animal drives. It is a fleeting captious moment that paradoxically expresses an enthusiasm which reveals the equally healthy and innocent human character traits.
Her works combine approaches from naïve painting, caricature and expressionism, though without the aim to show off different techniques or to portray the world in a realistic way. What interests the artist a lot more is everyday life. It is full of spontaneous human behaviours and needs that she poses in a parody through the representation of different animals’ traits. She wants to illustrate nuances of characters, symbolise primitive needs and reinvigorate them.
This universe is her source of inspiration.
